Know Georgina

Georgina Carreté's story is one of perseverance, humility, and transformation. Born in vibrant Barcelona in August 1957, her life reflects a journey of a woman who, amidst life's ups and downs, found her true calling in supporting others, not only in her homeland but also beyond its borders, in Switzerland.

From a young age, Georgina showed exceptional academic prowess, leading her to pursue a degree in Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelonaa in 1975.

For three years, she passionately dedicated herself to this field until an unexpected turn of events. Pregnancy and societal norms of the time compelled her to leave her medical career behind and delve into the realm of motherhood while working at the Dexeus Institute in Barcelona. This institute, renowned for its work in childbirth and maternal-infant care, became a significant part of Georgina's life, where she made a meaningful contribution to the health and well-being of many families.

Georgina's quest for knowledge didn't stop there; while navigating the responsibilities of motherhood and marriage, she found time and energy to study Psychology. Although family circumstances forced her to abandon these studies after three years, her background in Medicine and Psychology provided her with a deep understanding of the human condition, both physically and emotionally.

Life in Barcelona, until 2012, was a rollercoaster of highs and lows for Georgina. Despite personal challenges that led to moments of great difficulty, she never lost hope or her humble essence. It was this resilience and desire for change that prompted her to leave Spain and seek a fresh start in Switzerland, a country that offered her not only security but also the opportunity for reinvention.

In Switzerland, her first job as a governess in the home of a renowned psychiatrist not only marked the beginning of her new life but also provided her with invaluable insight into care and human understanding from a psychological perspective. Simultaneously, she dedicated herself to caring for the elderly at "Le Temps Présent" and in the company "Toujours Présent à Domicile," where her incomplete background in Medicine and Psychology equipped her with the tools to provide exceptional care. Georgina continued to educate herself in various areas related to emotional and physical care, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to learning and assisting others.

Today, at 67, Georgina Carreté hasn't stopped working or dreaming. Through the Georgina Carreté Initiative, she strives to provide young talents from across Europe with the opportunity to come to Switzerland and build a promising professional future. Her life, marked by dedication to serving and caring for others, is a testament to humility, strength, and the transformative power of change.

Georgina's story is not just a biography; it's an invitation to believe in our own ability to reinvent ourselves and in the impact we can have on others' lives. Through her experiences, she teaches us that true greatness lies in our ability to face adversity with grace and in our willingness to contribute to a better world, one humble act at a time.

United in ambition, let's transform the future of care with passion and expertise. Together, let's create a commitment towards excellence and innovation, for sustainable and meaningful improvement.
